Once we acquired our food establishment permit, we got super busy. Guava season was in full swing, putting pressure on our small but enthusiastic team to locate the guava, get it into the kitchen, and process it. We brought with us technical expertise and capacity to record the <a href=\"https:\/\/pacificsolutionsweek.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>2023 Global Breadfruit Confe<\/strong>rence<\/a> and to record and project for&nbsp;<strong>Papali\u02bbi Dr. Failautusi Avegalio, Jr.,<\/strong> Master of Ceremonies at the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1aQz72HXkoKvinjRXunNPifoq6sIWp8xC\/view\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2023 Stars of Oceania Awards Ceremony<\/a>. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We were honored for our work in the areas of media, youth leadership, and healing work categories in acknowledgment of Olohana\u2019s long standing dedication to building community capacity and the inter-generational transfer of knowledge. The grant will fund <strong>Hawai\u02bbi Tropical Fruits: Adding Value for Shared Abundance<\/strong> for one year and aims to prototype two minimally processed fruit puree products utilizing locally grown, soft-skin fruit that might otherwise go to waste in the absence of a market for them.&nbsp; The fruit puree products will be delivered through <strong>Hawai\u02bbi Farm to Car<\/strong> and <strong>Hawai\u02bbi Island Food Basket\u2019s CSA DA BOX<\/strong> to local residents including recipients of SNAP. Dr. Daniel Wildcat, Haskell Indian Nations University, was honored as an Aloha Aina Warrior; Rev. M. Kalani Souza, the late Hank Fergerstrom, and the late Bob Gough were honored for Courage and Aloha. More than twenty indigenous activists toured&nbsp;locations in Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Illinois, and at City Hall in Philadelphia, Penn.
