Olohana provides a variety of programmatic training and learning opportunities for members of the community, teaching both cutting-edge scientific and indigenous/traditional environmental stewardship systems through the methodology of ITK™ Inter-generational Transfer of Knowledge, while simultaneously facilitating the development of strong, inter-generational, inter-cultural, knowledge-sharing relationships and networks across the globe.
All Olohana Foundation programs and projects focus on developing and strengthening a community’s cohesiveness, resilience, disaster preparedness, and longevity as a community in the face of climate change devastation and disaster. They are organized around Advisory, Historic & Cultural Heritage Conservation & Preservation, Rural Development, Social Capital Development, and Youth Education & Training.
